Research Essentials: Library Basics

Research Essentials: Library Basics In-Person

Students often tell librarians "I wish I knew this before!" after learning about a resource, research trick, or library service.

It’s never too late or early to learn more about navigating the resources available at Vassar Libraries. This quick 30-minute workshop is an opportunity to build and strengthen your foundational research skills to make your research process more effective. Together, we will review:

  • Starting your research in Vassar Library Search
  • Finding academic journals and reading item records
  • Selecting relevant databases beyond Google Scholar and JStor
  • Conquering paywalls and getting full text

Length: ~30 min

Location: Main Library Rm. 160
