Weeding through Data: Introduction to Locating and Evaluating Data

Weeding through Data: Introduction to Locating and Evaluating Data In-Person

In this hands-on workshop, we will navigate the complex landscape of marijuana consumption data. Using a series of questions to guide our data journey, we will explore "go-to" resources, learn how to vet dataset quality and spot data red flags. You will leave with a framework for locating and evaluating data on any topic, that can be applied to both academic research and everyday life.

If possible, please bring a laptop to the session. Presented as part of International Love Data Week 2026, by Isabel Ryan, Science Librarian, and Elizabeth Salmon, Social Science Librarian.
